The major characteristics of this selection are the firmness, large fruit size and long shelf life at room temperature (20°C)

Description:
Late summer-fruit selection. Young shoots are quite densely covered with purplish-brown fairly large prickles. New shoots are abundantly covered with bloom wax, not hairy and display a drooping habit. The leaves are only slightly rough- surfaced between veins and are dull light green in color, usually have 5 leaflets but upper part of a shoot may have only 3. Flowering season on shoots from the previous year is very late; flowers are large. Fruit-bearing branches are quite long; fruits are dull medium red in color, large, quite firm, longer than broad, quite hairy and easily detachable from their receptacle.
Important characteristics:
Fruits keep very well at a temperature of 20°C, retaining their shape day after day and remaining firm for a substantial length of time. Looses little or no juice. Fruits contain more sugar than SJR942-7, Boyne, Festival, Killarney and Nova varieties.
